Michael Terence Publishing Announce the Release of “Mythistrone” by Eddie Woods

Michael Terence Publishing is excited to announce the release of “Mythistrone – a view of a different past” by Eddie Woods.

Thame, United Kingdom, October 04, 2019 –(PR.com)– About Mythistrone:

Paris and Helen have escaped the Trojan War and live in what is rapidly becoming a retirement village for ex-heroes, heroines, mythical creatures and villains of a time separated by large spaces of time.

Paris is unemployed and, due to the expensive tastes of his wife Helen, is forced to seek employment that might keep up with the cost of homemaking. Paris is not really destined to work and his first encounter with Hercules, followed by a visit to Andromache’s Bar and Bistro, achieves nothing remotely resembling a job. It leads to a disjointed, humorous tour of the mythical world.

A hand-picked team of mythology’s finest and dirtiest decide to take on the gods in drunken but democratic fashion. They train for the event and square up to the Olympian gods while Jupiter is on holiday and, though omnipresent, blissfully unaware. They obviously, though not necessarily intentionally, make a mess and cause a fair amount of structural damage. Which they follow up with a visit to the underworld involving more damage and problem-solving, brought on to a fair extent by the damage.

Jupiter is not happy with the state of his homestead on his return and throws a bit of a tantrum. The heroes are not entirely to blame for the mess but they are in the firing line for Jupiter’s contempt of all things earthling.

The fate of the world hangs in the balance. Will Jupiter go ballistic or will he sulk? Will the heroes be annihilated or inebriated? Will there be a balance between heaven and hell again? Will there even be a heaven or a hell?

About the Author:
Eddie Woods was born in Shardlow at a very early age, the first rung on the nuclear family ladder for a serial fisherman and a clever woman who saw more to life than messing about on, or in, the river. He was educated in state schools including the godly indifferent, daily punishment beatings, Paramilitary (religious) division of the Christian Brothers.

Following the demise of the nuclear family unit, due in no small part to an excess of serial fishing, Eddie served a seven-year reality apprenticeship in the woodworking disciplines, which funded many travels to the leftovers of the Greek Empire where he never discovered the ruins of a 5,000-year-old pub. Surely they’d had at least one – seeing as every second doorway of his travels appeared to be one.

After life in the trade, followed by the disseminatory process of ‘passing on the secrets’ of the ancient masters to subsequent generations of the disinterested hoody clad and the genius inspired interested alike (in the most altruistic manner that college-based bureaucratic red tape would allow) the subject of academic difference of opinion featured largely. Education became transformed, by forces who apparently knew better, into edutainment with little educational value but much more efficient funding options. Having learned from the experts who systematically decimated the educational system, Eddie realised he needed a change because change was the only constant which ensured that difficult questions would not be postulated or asked.

After spending many years in a variety of Greek and Roman locations looking for the right stone, generally in the wrong field from the point of view of some local authorities, Eddie wondered what it would be like if all the ancient myths, heroic figures and creatures co-existed in the same space and time with present-day insecurities and views of societal community structure and he launched, at full throttle, into the task of combining the characteristics of the world’s greatest theorist thinkers, chroniclers, action personas and creatures.

And so it was that “Mythistone” was born.
