FTC Denies Requests to Extend Time Period for Seeking Comments on Proposed Amendments to its Rules of Practice Regarding Adjudicative Proceedings

The Federal Trade Commission today denied requests that the Commission extend the time within which public comments can be filed on proposed revisions to Parts 3 and 4 of the agency’s Rules of Practice governing administrative litigation before the Commission. The requests were made by three commenters in response to a notice of proposed rulemaking announced by the Commission on September 25, 2008, seeking public comment on the proposed amendments as part of the rulemaking process.

The Commission vote to deny the requests was 4-0.
