NCUA Hosting Webinar on Safe and Sound Participation Lending

Join the Discussion to Hear about Benefits and Requirements for Buyers, Sellers

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (Aug. 26, 2015) – Credit unions considering participation lending can get valuable information during an upcoming webinar, “Participation Lending in a Safe and Sound Manner,” offered by the National Credit Union Administration.

The 90-minute webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 16, beginning at 2 p.m. Eastern. Online registration is available here. Participants will also use this link to log into the webinar. Registrants should allow pop-ups from this website. There is no charge.

Vanessa Lowe, economic development specialist with NCUA’s Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives, is joined by Mike Dorsett, president of Portfolio Performance, LLC, and Ian Lampl, chief executive officer of LoanStreet, to discuss participation lending issues including:

  • Benefits of participation lending for buyers and sellers,
  • The three levels of due diligence for participation buyers,
  • Buyer and seller side case studies, and
  • Participation solutions in partnership with corporate credit unions.

The webinar will be closed captioned and then archived online here approximately three weeks following the live event.

NCUA’s Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives fosters credit union development and the effective delivery of financial services for small credit unions, new credit unions, minority depository institutions and credit unions with a low-income designation.
