KYIV – Today, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen met with Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal. Secretary Yellen conveyed that the United States will stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes. The Secretary highlighted ongoing U.S. economic support to Ukraine, U.S. participation in the Multi-agency Donor Coordination Platform for Ukraine, and the importance of economic reforms to strengthen the foundation for Ukraine’s swift recovery and reconstruction after the war. Secretary Yellen also highlighted the efforts of the U.S. and its global coalition to impose severe sanctions on Russia to degrade its war machine and limit the revenue it has to fund its brutal war.
