BEIJING – Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen today met with Beijing Mayor Yin Yong of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). Secretary Yellen discussed Beijing’s unique role within China’s economy, Mayor Yin’s outlook for Beijing’s economy, and his previous roles at the People’s Bank of China and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange. Secretary Yellen expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to learn more about Beijing’s cultural and economic significance. She emphasized that the United States seeks a healthy economic relationship with China that benefits both countries over time.
