With 56% of Market Share, Yandex is Confirmed as The Leading Search Engine in Russia – Gargiullo: “The Key to Selling in Europe’s Biggest Market”

The leading Russian search engine, Yandex confirms its leadership in online search with 56% of market share: the main gateway to selling in Russia and developing SEO or digital advertising activities, as reported by expert in digital marketing Giulio Gargiullo.

Moscow, Russia, October 10, 2019 –(PR.com)– With 56% of market share, Yandex, the leading Russian search engine, remains the main gateway to the Russian online market. Yandex is the principal means of accessing strategic activities such as SEO, keyword and online advertising and e-commerce, as well as many other areas of the local digital market. This is Yandex.Radar data from January 2019 relating to online search in the Russian Federation. Yandex, in fact, can boast of 56.8% of market share: 68% for desktops, 51% for Android and 40% for IOS. Unlike in other countries, Google.ru is the second most used search engine by Russians.

Giulio Gargiullo, expert in online marketing in Russia, comments: “Yandex remains the leader in search. It is like the main gateway to the large and rich market of the Russian Federation and of Runet worldwide, for many countries of the former Soviet Union and several Russian communities around the world. According to Ethnologue: Languages of the World, in 2017, Russian is the mother tongue for 154 million people and around 265 million people in the world speak Russian. The Russian search engine remains a cultural reference point for Russians and for people connected to the Russian language and culture. They use it daily for shopping, informing themselves and using the multiple applications of the Yandex world, used by millions of Russians every day. In addition to selling in the Russian Federation, Yandex is also a great tool for bringing quality Russian customers, investors or tourism to commercial or business activities anywhere in the world.”

Gargiullo continues: “Yandex is thus the most important tool for developing business in the Russian Federation, as well as worldwide via the Russian language and culture – as shown in the mini guide, by means of online marketing and Search Engine Optimization, an activity involving keywords and highly targeted and focused online advertising, applications and services used by millions of users and cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies with multiple uses.”

Giulio Gargiullo continues: “Electronic commerce in Russia is growing strongly and, as shown in the report from Morgan Stanley, the market for material goods will reach $ 31 billion dollars in 2020, with a peak of 53 billion in 2023, showing a growth, therefore, of 170%. The main areas of e-commerce include tourism (online booking for hotels, air tickets and tours), electronics and appliances, clothing and footwear as well as sales of food and groceries. Even the luxury sector is an area particularly appreciated by Russian buyers.”
