FTC Extends Public Comment Period for Healthcare Competition Workshop Through May 16, 2014

The Federal Trade Commission has extended the deadline for public comments on its recent workshop, Examining Health Care Competition. To provide interested parties additional time to submit comments, the deadline has been extended through May 16, 2014. Comments can be submitted electronically, as detailed in the Federal Register notice announcing the event.

The workshop was held on March 20 and 21, 2014, and addressed five areas related to health care competition that are of interest to the Commission: Professional regulation of health care providers; innovations in health care delivery; advancements in health care technology; measuring and assessing quality of health care; and price transparency of health care services.

The Commission vote to extend the comment period was 5-0. (FTC File No. P13207; the staff contact is Patricia Schultheiss, Office of Policy Planning, 202-326-2877)
