Federal Trade Commission Chairman Deborah Platt Majoras will host a press conference on Wednesday, November 7 at 10:30 am in Washington, DC, to announce the results of a law enforcement sweep targeting companies and individuals who allegedly violated the rules associated with the National Do Not Call Registry for telemarketers. The Chairman will be joined by a representative from the U.S. Department of Justice, which worked with the FTC to bring the actions that will be announced. The Registry currently contains more than 145 million telephone numbers of consumers who have chosen not to receive calls from telemarketers in their homes.
